Fall Reflects Life's Latter Years

Fall is a time of change. It brings sadness to some and a feeling of repose to others. Gone are the warm days of summer. Gone are the long days of summer. Vibrant greens, luscious vegetation and the magnificent variety of coloured blooms shrivel, dry out and shrink back to the earth from whence they came. Oranges, reds and yellows paint the landscape - the grand finale before the curtain of white covers the stage.

The latter years of life very much parallel the attributes of fall. Gone are the carefree days of youth. Gone is the invincible feeling of immortality. Life’s meaning changes. Answers are no longer sought through outside exploration but rather discovered through inner contemplation. Peace rather than excitement is the prize that is valued. A greater awareness arises out of the death of the worldly illusions and a blanket of calm covers the stage.
