Wouldn't it be great if we all had a personal built in Wi-Fi system that was always connected, always running, and never powers down no matter where we are? Well we do. It is operating inside each one of us. To access it, we do not require a password, in fact any words or thoughts will hinder its ability to operate at full capacity or full intelligence. The key process involves turning our focus inward and paying full attention to our feelings or bodily sensations without resistance or without caving into the urge to ignore or explain those sensations away. The ability to look at our emotional or physical pain face on, to breathe into it and surrender to it, allows those strong feelings to dissolve, dissipate and unveil a vastness, expansiveness and infinite space that is filled with calming, peaceful energy. It is from this all encompassing, loving space that the Universal Internet thrives and our true Authentic Self can be experienced. It is from this space that insights, directions, and a feeling of interconnection arises.
Our feelings let us know that our inner Wi-Fi is running. If we allow ourselves to feel and not analyze, then information from the great Universal Internet or our Intuition if you prefer, has a much easier time bubbling up and being heard. How often have we figured out a problem when we were focused on something else, when we were daydreaming or just waking up in the morning?
We are here to experience life as it happens, to be in the moment, to recognize pain, happiness, boredom, fear, anger etc., to feel it and to consciously choose how to respond to it in a way that best reflects who we really are. Then and only then do we need to let those feelings go or risk suffering. Suffering is created when we choose to re-live our pain again and again through words and thoughts and we choose to worry about that pain happening again in the future.
Gazing at a beautiful landscape, walking in nature, watching a child or animal at play, meditating, or pursuing a passion are a few methods that stimulate a connection to our internal Wi-Fi and expose us to our expansive, internal network of infinite possibilities and insights. This network is free from the limiting world of linear thoughts and words.
Focusing on our body sensations also gets us out of the fear-conditioned world of thought and returns us to the wonder and power of the Now. Try taking a moment to focus on the sensation of your feet, your hands, the blood flowing through your veins or you heart steadily pumping.
Daydreaming is another exercise that nurtures inner focus, peace and our limitless Universal Internet access. Use all your senses when imagining a wonderful memory or possibility. Fill in the details with what you see, how you feel, what you hear and how things taste.
Google and the standard internet service are great for handling day to day household problems but for those bigger questions like "Who am I? or "How can I realize myself through life's experiences?" can only be truly and loving answered by turning to our own built in search engine and Universal Internet system.
